The Handy atmosphere is essentially a Handy Polaris with measuring range and probe suited to measuring oxygen in gas. It can measure both high and low levels of oxygen. It can therefore be used for checking the gas used in modified atmosphere packaging and for checking pure oxygen supplies. The latter is useful when working on oxygen generators.

The standard version has a cable and a normal Handy type probe, to which a measurement chamber can be fitted - see the Brochure for the Handy Atmosphere.

Another version of the Atmosphere, the Atmosphere SP, is specially designed to check the oxygen concentration of the gas inside an actual package of food. In this version the probe is attached to the meter and is inside a chamber with a needle. The chamber forms a pump so that a sample of gas can be extracted from a package and its oxygen conbtent measured.
